Year 1 School Visit to Smithills Open Farm

Takes place 1st May 2025

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Thursday 1st May 2025, Year 1 will be going on a school trip as part of this year’s learning in Science.

We will be visiting Smithills Open Farm in Bolton.  The cost of the trip will be £15.00 per child which will include the cost of travel by coach. The children will be leaving after registration and will be back before 3.15pm.

If your child has a school dinner your child will be provided with a school packed lunch.

Children must bring:

• A waterproof coat with a hood.
• Suitable shoes for walking for example trainers, walking boots or wellies (no open toe shoes).
• Any necessary medication.  Please note if your child is on the school’s asthma register, they will not be able to go on the trip unless they have an inhaler in school.

If it is going to be a sunny day please apply sun cream to your child before they come to school.

Please pay £15.00 to school via the online payment system, ParentPay. You can pay in installments or the full amount.

Trip money must be paid in full by Thursday 24th April 2025.

You may also pay in instalments of £5 on the following dates:

Payment 1: Due by Friday 28th March 2025

Payment 2: Due by Friday 11th April 2025

Final payment: Due by Thursday 24th April 2025

Please note that unfortunately as the school will incur costs once the trip is booked, we are unable to offer refunds if your child is not able to attend the trip.
